Born and raised in NYC, Masha graduated from McGill University with a B.A. in English Literature, and received her CELTA in 2006. After working at Newsweek and then Time Magazine, she decided to teach English and travel the world. She has taught in NYC and Japan at schools such as Berkeley College, Embassy CES, American Language School, and more. At an early age Masha became fascinated with language and has studied Russian, Spanish, French, German, and Japanese. Having been a language student herself, Masha decided that it was her turn to help English language learners.

Sinan received his CELTA in 2005 while in Lisbon, Portugal and has been teaching English ever since. He was born and raised in NYC and graduated from Cornell University where he studied English. After teaching private lessons in Lisbon, he returned to NY where he taught at NYLC. Sinan also worked for a year at Seven Stories Press, aiding the publishing house as a proofreader, making his speciality as an English teacher writing and grammar. He then spent a year in Japan teaching English at the American Language School before returning to NY to open Be Fluent NYC.

Originally from Ohio, Corinna moved to New York after completing her BA in Liberal studies with a concentration in fashion design. She worked in the bridal design industry for several years in New York before receiving her CELTA in 2007. She has been teaching group and private classes in New York ever since. She also became certified to teach yoga in 2008 and specializes in teaching yoga to English students. She recently studied Portuguese while in Brazil. In her free time she enjoys doing yoga and capoeira as well as reading and discussing current events.

Originally from Massachusetts, Tracy has a B.A from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Sociology. After graduating, Tracy completed a TEFL program and moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After living in Brazil for many years and a shorter period in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Tracy decided to settle in New York. She is passionate about learning languages as well as teaching, and enjoys working with students from all backgrounds. In her free time, Tracy enjoys music, cooking, traveling, reading and writing.

Hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana, Joey studied at Indiana University and graduated with a B.A. in Comparative Literature. After completing his degree, he taught at Exodus Refugee Immigration in Indianapolis and primarily assisted with ESL workshops for refugees from Myanmar. Following his experience with Exodus, he moved to Nagoya, Japan, and spent 2 years teaching English at an adult conversation school and playing music in central Japan. In July of 2015, he moved to NYC in order to gain more experience teaching English to people from all over the world. In his free time, Joey likes playing drums, collecting records, studying Japanese, and drinking and eating cheaply.

Craig grew up in rural Aberdeenshire in the North East of Scotland. He received an M.A. in Philosophy from The University of St. Andrews (the home of golf!) and soon after started his teaching career. He has taught in China, Italy and England. In September 2015 he moved to New York to get married to a lovely American lady and to continue his career teaching English as a second language. In his spare time he enjoys reading, playing board games with friends and working on a novel that he won’t let anybody read.

Evan is a second generation New Yorker. He grew up in Chappaqua, NY. He majored in Japanese Language and Literature at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, and minored in Linguistics and Music. He lived in Japan for almost two years in total: twice as an exchange student at Kanda Gaigo Daigaku in Makuhari, Chiba and once as an English teacher in Tokyo. Evan’s hobbies include reading, singing, crocheting, playing video games and writing stories and music.
Born and raised in Japan, Yuki has lived in New York City for over 6 years. Fluent in both English and Japanese, Yuki works to grow and build Be Fluent and help students both study at Be Fluent and adjust to living in New York. Yuki is also a professional photographer who has been published in books, magazines and a variety of websites.
